People like that suck. Even if you did get suspended, believe me, first offense isn't so bad. I got reported for cussing at a leecher and i got suspended...For the damning period of 3 hours.

I had another person like this that i ran, really he was just dumb, well we get to the camp easy and im doing a 2k at campand 2k at forge deal, and im like "pay time" and he says i dont think so i will pay at droknars and then i said no and pasted my pay scheaduel and if he didnt pay i would kik him. So he didnt and i kiked him and he said he would report me, and i was "ok, thats fine it wont do anything. Then this other guy in the group payed for his share when we got to the forge and i was happy

The trick for them would be to filter out the whine and implement the good suggestions. They know that a game remains popular when the complaint level remains high. When nobody complains anything, that's because nobody cares anymore.

I think you have to look at the type of person who would want to be run to the Forge etc
Most are looking to take the easy way rather than apply themselves with working through the game the hard way.
The easy way for him from paying you was to run around screaming "scammer"
Its not surprising the number of twits running around screaming scammers noobs when they themselves only show they have no idea what they are talking about and show themselves up as being twits not to be taken seriously
(most not all)
These same people get one good find in mission with a group then try and sell it for a stupid price (whos the scammer)
Thats the problem with running is u take the risk of being scammed by some players

Well, you are no more guilty than they are - for having you run them.
If you get banned, they should be banned as well.

Otherwise, I wouldn't lose any sleep; it appears ANet is simply trying to "discourage" the practice as opposed to outright punishing it.

Oh, shut up! I am so sick of people like you who think you know everything about a person based ingame decisions, like choosing to run to Droknars or play through. A good majority of us have played through "the hard way" and enjoyed it, and now with extra characters just want to get to Droknars so we can solo most of the missions on our own and get good loot and not deal with idiot noobs.

Yes this guy who scammed the OP is a prick and should probably be suspended for jumping out of an agreed upon deal, but you need to mellow out. Besides if you "can't be bothered" then why post in this thread.

just to warn guys who offer service to run people to forge or any other place. Sometime, you might meet people that is dumb or not wanting to pay you and use the excuse of "omg.. i got scammed" to try and get off your case.. so hopefully a-net won't ban you just because people don't like the price of 1k that your charging.

trust me, i seen to many freeloader out there that want to be ran to certain places and not wanting to pay golds for it.

Anet is not going to lock you out for making runs and charging for it. if you want to take that risk more power to you. This is not a scam situation. Typical scams get a warning e-mail from Anet and they you know that they actually do watch the logs. This kind of thing is not something they care one way or another about because it is not integral to the game as a whole, and is not even encouraged. But it is not a problem for most. only a few that make money off this kind of action feel that it is worth attention. In any case its nothing you need to worry about Anet is not so stupid to just ban an account on the word of just one player...

People are funny. I was slumming in Yak's Bend the other day, and there were bunches of people, low levels, wanting to be run all the way to the Temple, so they could (no doubt) die in the UW or FoW. Now, I wonder:

1) How many of those people actually thought they'd complete the entire run?
2) How many people actually took pre-payments for the run and laughed when everyone died, or bailed after they got the prepay?
3) How many runners, like yourself, saw nothing but empty pockets for the failed run?

I don't know who's more pathetic: people who spam every town with 'Will run to xxx for 1k' or the poor saps that get taken by unscrupulous runners.

In general, I think running for cash is just ridiculous, and everyone involved deserves what they get (or don't get).

Since this thread is really going nowhere, and is becoming rapidly infested with off-topic/spam posts, I'm going to close it.

To the OP, ANet takes its bannings and investigations very seriously. Chances are, the guy won't even report it. If he does, it does him more harm than it does you. Don't worry -- if you didn't do anything wrong (and forge running is by no means forbidden), everything's fine.
